Gianluca Rossi

Gianluca graduates in architecture at the University of Florence (IT) in march 1989, then he experiences at Berkley University in San Francisco (USA) and he works in Luxor in Egypt from 1990 to 2000 with the Archeological Mission of Restoration n° 1064 of the Louvre Museum at the Temple of Ramesse II.
From 1995 to 2007 he also work for the Faculty of Architecture at University of Ferrara (IT) as Guest Professor of Architectural Restoration Laboratory; since 2015 he also run a workshop inside Industrial Design Class of University of Bologna (IT).

In 1989 Gianluca founds his own firm “GLR Architect”, the working group is enriched with various people until 2009 when they constitute UAINOTarchitects , where he explore ephemeral architectures as exhibitions and temporary expositions as well as interior design and restoration projects.
With his firm he design several spaces, both architectural, interior and ephemeral: for Giorgio Armani he cooperate for the interior design of some Hotels and Residences and the interior design of a yacht for Christensen & Ship, Portland (USA); he also cooperate with Fendi for luxury hotels in Dubai and Riyad; he makes many building restoration (such as some private villas in Tuscany) and new architectures, some clothing stores and industrial facilities in Italy and abroad (USA, UAE, Canada, France).
He designs exhibition spaces at the ‘Fuorisalone’(Milan Design Week – off) for Marazzi Group, Corradi Group, Elle Decor (Elle Decor Caffè form 2008 to 2011) and in collaboration with Paola Lenti brand. He also designs several ephemeral spaces such as the one for Il Casone (Italian Stones) and Budri (Italian Marbles) for the exhibitions “Abitare il Tempo 2010” and “Marmomacc 2010”.

Since 2010 Gianluca is the Art Director for Marazzi, main brand of Marazzi Group, the international tile factory, for which he designs the stand in Cersaie, the annual ceramic exhibition in Bologna (IT), with his firm he renew the mail showroom and the new Headquarters in Sassuolo (MO) in 2015.
From 2008 to 2013 he is the Art Director of Corradi Group, for wich he follows showrooms, exhibitionns and expositions, product design and advertising. With the Corradi’s Pergotenda® Move he wins the Christmust award in 2011and the selection for the “ADI Compasso d’Oro Award” for the year 2013.

Gianluca’s product design also include an outdoor furniture collection (Glypho), some stone mosaics and a dishes collection for Il Casone.

He always research of new materials and their application in product and interior design, he often publishes to Interni, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Progetti, Airone, Archeologia Viva and other magazines. Today Gianluca own his firm UAINOTarchitetti in Bologna and travel all over the world for clients and speeches.
